Emma Twyford, one of the leading figures in British climbing, is renowned for her achievements in both sport and traditional climbing. She became the first British woman to climb a 9a route (5.14d) and has a wealth of experience in some of the most challenging and adventurous climbs in the UK and beyond. With years of dedication to honing her traditional climbing skills, Emma brings a deep understanding of the techniques and mental fortitude required for this discipline.

In her workshop, the focus will be on placing gear effectively and efficiently. The aim is to help you build confidence in assessing your gear placements, as well as beginning to weight the gear and take falls. This experience will naturally lead into the mental aspect of climbing, helping you understand when you can push your limits and when it’s wise to proceed with caution.

Please note that to participate in the workshops, you must be registered for the event and possess a FASI membership card, which can also be obtained on-site. This card is mandatory to ensure insurance coverage and participation in the proposed activities. Don’t miss the chance to learn from the best in a stimulating environment filled with fellow enthusiasts!
